Election day is here, and polling lines are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.  However, before you head to the polls, make sure you are fully aware of what you need to take with you in order to vote.

Today, you will be asked to show one of the following forms of photo identification (ID) in order to vote in person:

  • Texas driver license,
  • Texas Election ID Certificate issued by DPS,
  • Texas personal ID card issued by DPS,
  • Texas concealed handgun license issued by DPS,
  • Military ID with photo,
  •  U.S. citizenship certificate with photo,
  • U.S. Passport

Voters unable to obtain an acceptable photo ID may still vote in person. Bring one of the following: certified birth certificate (must be an original, not a photocopy); valid voter registration certificate; copy or original of your utility bill, bank statement, government check or paycheck or other government document that shows your name and address.
