One year ago today (August 16th) R&B lost a National treasure when the Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin passed away at 76 years of age.

Today Hot 107-3 Jamz will honor the icon by shining a musical spotlight during your workday starting at 9 a.m. during the "Commercial Free Workday Kickoff."

We will go down memory lane and sing some of her favorite hits throughout the day.

Franklin passed away from a pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor and celebrities and fans paid tribute including former President Barack Obama.

Born March 25th, 1942 to Barbara and Reverend C.L. Franklin she started singing at New Bethel Baptist Church in Detroit and the rest is history with 112 charted singles on Billboard, and 20 number-one R&B singles just to name a few.

Today we will put some R-E-S-P-E-C-T and show love to the 'Queen' Aretha Franklin.
