Today, Hot 107.3 Jamz and Jarvis Christian College partnered for the first Jarvis Christian College Bark-A-Thon. The Bark-A-Thon is a tele/radio-thon to help Jarvis Christan College raise funds for students that attend the school, the school mascot in a bulldog. Most students that attend Historically Black Colleges and Universities receive funding via the United Negro College Fund.

Jarvis Christian College is an independent four year historically black college that was founded in 1912. It is located in Hawkins, Texas and is under the current direction of Dr. Lester C. Newman. When President Newman arrived to the campus for years ago the attendance was very lower. In four years, registration has rocketed to a little over 900 students.

Thanks to everyone who participated and another Bark-A-Thon will take place Sunday, February 28, 2016 on Hot again. Remember, a mind is a terrible thing to waste, but a beautiful thing to invest in.
