George Zimmerman Arrested on Domestic Violence Charge

George Zimmerman was arrested today and is en route to Seminole County Jail, according to Sheriff Don Eslinger. Just before 1:30 p.m., the sheriff confirmed Zimmerman had been arrested. WESH Channel 2 reported Zimmerman was accused of domestic violence by a girlfriend. The Sheriff's office reported they were called to a disturbance on Topfield Court in western Seminole County near Apopka, where Zimmerman's new girlfriend lives.

George Zimmerman is the 30 year-old former neighborhood watch volunteer who was acquitted in July on a charge that he murdered 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, an unarmed black teenage boy.

After that, George had a string of run-ins with law enforcement including a case involving his estranged wife and her father accusing him of threatening them with a gun.
