A Flint man has been sentenced to 5-years in prison for the death of his father. Patrick Crowder Jr. was sentenced by a Smith County Jury on Thursday (October 3), according to TylerPaper.com. He was found guilty aggravated assault with a weapon against a family member. He could have been sentenced to up to 99 years behind bars. He had gotten into a fight with his father Patrick Crowder Sr., on Oct. 14, 2018. The whole incident started because Crowder Jr. didn't want to go to church. His mother and sister testified that the use of the knife was not on purpose. They testified that he was not the aggressor, his father was. His defense had asked the jury to give him probation.
