Some tenants at a Tyler apartment complex are thankful to be alive after a fire destroyed multiple units.

According to East Texas Matters, firefighters were called to the William Booth Garden Apartments located at 601 Golden Road around 8:15 p.m. when flames were reported in one of their units.

When they arrived at the complex smoke and fire was coming from the unit and spreading to other units as firefighters were searching for potential victims.

The fire was extinguished around 11 p.m. and no injuries were reported, but three units were damaged as the fire began on the front porch of the one of the apartment units.

An investigation is pending on the cause of the fire.
