Earlier this month an Amber Alert was cancelled for a 3-year-old girl from Richardson, Texas who went missing after the father, Wesley Mathews, told her to stay outside at 3 am because she did not drink her milk.

Today, multiple news outlets including Dallas News, KWTX and WFAA have reported a completely different story told by the father, who is being held on a $1,000,000 bond. The whole thing seemed fishy as many of our listeners pointed out. 3 am? Drinking milk? The father waited five hours to report her missing?

Dallas News reported of a young child's body being found not far from their home yesterday and today, it was confirmed that it was the missing girl.

KWTX reports that Wesley now says the girl, adopted by Mathews, choked to death while drinking her milk. In the police affadvit it reads:

Eventually the 3-year-old girl began to drink the milk. Wesley Mathews then physically assisted the 3-year-old girl in drinking the milk. The girl began to choke, coughed and her breathing slowed. Eventually Wesley Mathews no longer felt a pulse on the child and believed she had died.

The affadavit added:

... then he admitted to removing the body from the home.
