Fans Had Plenty to Say About the Performances, Skirmishes at 2017 BET Awards

There was plenty of highlights before, during and after the 2017 BET Awards on Sunday night (June 25). Fans on Twitter had a lot to say about the performances, fights and other bizarre moments that you might not have seen during the star-studded event.

Almost everyone on Twitter agreed that New Edition’s performance was the standout of the night. The biopic cast all took turns delivering a N.E. song and everyone closed out performing “Is It Love” together.

"The New Edition tribute last night was LIT. They did a wonderful job last night," wrote one viewer.

Fans also appreciated Bruno Mars kicking off the awards ceremony, they also cheered for Xscape's onstage reunion and loved Mary J. Blige's medley with A$AP Rocky. Meanwhile, legendary soulster Lenny Williams saluted Tamar Braxton for her "Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh" emotional performance of "My Man."

Another big discussion on social media was Remy Ma winning the Best Female Hip-Hop Artist trophy. While many felt the honor was well-deserved, some people wanted Cardi B to take home the award.

"Cardi B should pull a #JillStein & demand recount of Best Female Hip-Hop Artist votes," tweeted one user.

Twitter was also abuzz following Joe Budden's skirmish with Migos. "

Wow. Joe Budden was not here for the Migos sass. Can't we all just get along at our awards show though," tweeted one fan.

Elsewhere, folks were a little taken aback by a photo featuring Future and his daughter wearing a bizzare facial accessory at the BET Awards. It looks like both of them are donning a diamond-spiked mask, similar to Batman's arch enemy Bain. Talk about "Mask Off."

"I just don't understand what [Future] wore to the #BETAwards. How did he stay #hydrated? Did he have a #camelback hook up under there?" asked one user.

Finally, some people felt the BET Awards was just too long. The show lasted four hours.

"The BET Awards were good, I watched the 1st 6hrs but I fell asleep on the last two," joked one fan on Twitter.
