Graduation time is here & the next step for many high school seniors is making the big move to college.  As every parent knows, that takes money!

Last year, the Monsour Law Firm stepped forward to award a $5,000 scholarship to one deserving local student.  Due to the incredible interest they got at that point, Attorney Doug Monsour made the decision to double his company's commitment this year, designating two $5,000 scholarship recipients.  Then the applications started pouring in, & that led to an unexpected last minute change in plans.

According to Monsour, as the 60 applicants were being reviewed, it became more & more difficult to narrow the field.  Additional criteria were taken into consideration, but the overall "superstar quality" of those individuals seeking financial assistance was so impressive, the elimination process didn't get any easier.  Some candidates were called in for follow-up interviews, & eventually, the firm cut the list down to four finalists.

At that point, Monsour realized another move was necessary & made the decision to award not two, but FOUR different $5,000 scholarships!

As the Monsour Law Firm Facebook page reveals, the four deserving winners are:  Connor Hearron (White Oak HS), Karla Rodriguez (Kilgore HS), & two members of Longview High School's Class of '17-  Matayia Jones & Brittney Campbell.  Congratulations to these outstanding students & a huge thank you to Doug Monsour & his team for allocating $20,000 in scholarship funds to deserving young members of our East Texas community.
