We'll be celebrating our nation's independence on July 4th with cookouts, time at the lake or pool, friends and family and fireworks!

East Texas has plenty of free activities for all to enjoy. There will be plenty of food, live entertainment and of course fireworks lighting up the East Texas skies. The following is a list of July 4th celebrations that will be happening around the area. Remember if you purchase your own fireworks, treat them with respect, they can do great harm to you or others and to property too.

  • Tyler

    Fourth Of July Celebration @ Lindsey Park

    Lindsey Park - 12557 Spur 364 West, Tyler

    Fireworks on Thursday, July 4th around 9:15 p.m.

    The fun kicks off at 4 p.m. and the fireworks show will begin after dark (around 9:15 p.m.) The park gate, located off of Spur 364, will officially open at 2 p.m. and admission is free.

    Attendees are asked to arrive early for prime parking. Carpooling is highly recommended to help alleviate traffic congestion. Parking will be on a first come, first serve basis.

    Tyler Transit buses will also be available, running every 25 to 30 minutes to transport attendees to the park at no charge from the following locations:
    • Harvey Hall, 2000 W. Front St.
    • Tyler Junior College West Campus, 1530 S SW Loop 323
    • Tyler Independent School District, 1319 Earl Campbell Pkwy.

    More information regarding transportation will be released closer to the event.

    The Kids’ Zone and concessions will begin at 4 p.m. and continue until 10 p.m. Live entertainment will include music from the Groove Slaves.

    To prepare for this event, Lindsey Park will be closed to the public on July 4 until 2 p.m. Alcohol, smoking and private fireworks are prohibited in the park.

  • Longview

    2019 Fireworks + Freedom Celebration

    Maude Cobb Activity Center - 100 Grand Blvd., Longview

    Fireworks on Thursday, July 4th around 9:30 p.m.

    This full day event begins July 4th at 11 a.m. and features amusement rides, kids activities, food vendors, free concert featuring Uncle Kracker and the fireworks show around 9:30 p.m.

  • Athens

    Fourth Of July @ Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center

    Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center in Athens

    Fireworks on Thursday, July 4th around 9:15 p.m.

    TFFC will be open for regular paid visitation from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Free admission for the fireworks show will start at 5 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to fish in the stocked casting pond until 8:30 p.m. No license is required to fish, and bait and tackle are furnished for free.

    Pets, alcohol and private fireworks, including “snap caps” and sparklers, are not allowed. TFFC is a tobacco-free facility and smoking or the use of tobacco products are not allowed on the premises. Please leave canopies or other pop-up tents at home.

    Refreshments will be available for purchase onsite.

  • Canton

    4th Of July Fireworks Show

    Gates open at 4:00 for swimming, shopping, food trucks, live music and a family fun zone area! Bring your blanket and relax on the hill as you enjoy snacks from local food trucks, while watching the kids swim or enjoying live music! Our guests will have access to our private beach and a best decorated float contest! Live music includes The Pictures Band and Grant Cook and Friends. The grounds will be covered with yard games, water slides, bounce houses, and more.

    The parade in downtown Henderson begins at 10 a.m. and then the activities begin again at the park around 5 p.m. with kids activities, water slide, food vendors and live music.

    East Texas Yamboree Fireworks Show - Gilmer

    Fireworks on Wednesday, July 3rd at 9:15 p.m.

    This fireworks show will be held at the high school football stadium with seating available on the visitors side.  The celebration will begin with a fly over along with other special activities and conclude with the fireworks.
