With Christmas, just a few days away the East Texas Food Bank has gotten into the holiday spirit by distributing food to nearly 500 East Texas families on Friday (December 20th).

According to KLTV, East Texans gathered outside to participate in the first ever East Texas Food Bank Christmas Distribution.

With many East Texans who don’t know where their next meal is coming from this program was geared to help those in between the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday per Tim Butler, Program Service Director of the Food Bank.

Families received a while frozen chicken, canned goods, peanut butter, beans, bread, fresh produce and much more.

Stories like this warms my heart as the East Texas Food Bank stepped up and provided for our East Texas families.

If you know any family that might be in need or if your family is in need the East Texas Food Bank give out food at the East Texas Fairgrounds on the first and third Friday of the month.
