The Eat Texas Food Bank is kicking off its Summer Food Program today! Children, who may have otherwise gone hungry during the summer due to missing free or reduced-price meals at school, will be able to use the Food Bank instead! The Summer Food Program begins this morning (May 28) at 11:45 am at the Glass Rec Center, located at 501 W. 32nd Street, according to TylerPaper.com. Children will be given free meals!

“The East Texas Food Bank’s Summer Food Program is one of the most important child hunger programs in our community. Every year the Summer Food Program provides nutritious meals to fill that all important free or reduced lunchtime meal gap that is left when our kids are away from school on summer break.”
