The numbers are in from the first days of early voting in Smith County. Seven hundred residents have voted early, according to TylerPaper.com. About 75% of the early votes were cast in-person, the rest were mailed in. Monday had the highest number of early voters, 265. The numbers were down a bit on Tuesday, with 206 people voting and 229 rounding it out on Wednesday. There are three elections - the statewide constitutional election, the Smith County Emergency Services District No. 2, and the city of Overton’s municipal races.

You can vote ahead of the November 5th election at the Hub at 304 E. Ferguson St. today, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1, and on Election Day, Nov. 5.
