E-40 Files Lawsuit Against Author Over ‘Captain Save a Hoe’ Book
According to TMZ, the Bay Area legend claims that the book, written by Erika Kane (aka iiKane), infringes on his classic 1993 song of the same name. 40 Water maintains that he owns the rights to “Captain Save a Hoe” and Kane is using it word for word in her book and is unfairly profiting off his song based on the character he created with it.
According to the CSAH synopsis, the novel is about a guy named Georgie Porgie who leaves Philadelphia and moves to New York in order to pursue his dreams of being a famous hairdresser. Eventually, Georgie finds success as a hairstylist for the stars but the lure of money, drugs and women throws him into drama involving sex and violence.
As for the lawsuit, E-40 is asking the judge to have Kane's novel removed off shelves and award him any profits made from the book thus far.
Attorneys for Erika Kane had no comment on the matter.
