A 25-year-old Florida woman, Cheyenne Amber West, was charged with felony grand theft and felony shoplifting after paying $3.70 for $1,800 worth of electronics at a Florida Walmart.

How did she do it, you ask?

She took a computer, video game controllers and other merchandise from the electronics department, went to the clearance isle and took price tags of those items to cover up the bar codes on the electronics according to kxan.com.

She then went to the self checkout area and rang them up.

A loss-prevention officer at that Vero Beach, Florida Walmart witnessed her deeds.

TCpalm.com reported that in the arrest affidavit, West told a deputy:

I am just trying to get gifts for my son that I cannot afford. The computer is for my husband. Since he just got me a Coach purse, I figured he deserved something nice, as well.

Your husband just bought you a Coach purse? Hmm, I believe if that was the case, you would have the funds to pay for your items properly.

She was booked into the Indian River County Jail then released on a $3,000 bond.

Moral of the story, don't try to be a clever thief when you're just not that clever.
