Deborah Cox will step into the iconic role of Whitney Houston in The Bodyguard national tour. The tour will make stops in more than 20 cities in the United States including, Dallas, Texas and Houston. Cox and Whitney were label mates and friends, with the late pop singer often mentoring the Canadian beauty and reminding her to put family first. Cox told the Washington Post, “I take pleasure in the fact that I did know her. I did have a relationship with her,” Cox says. “There was a comradery there. She was a mentor. There was a sisterhood that we shared.”

Needless to say she is extremely excited about taking on such a huge part in the musical and says she wants people to know that this role is in good hands.

The stage version features songs from the movie such as: I Have Nothing, Run to You, I Will Always Love You, and adds other Houston hits like: I Wanna Dance with Somebody, Saving All My Love for You, and How Will I Know.

Stay tuned for more information on 2017 tour dates.
