Actor/comedian Ricky Harris has died. The 54-year old actor/comedian, who appeared in hit movies like Heat and Dope, as well as on Snoop Dogg's Doggystyle albums skits, died of a heart attack on Monday (Dec. 25), according to The Hollywood Reporter

A Long Beach native, Harris was memorably featured in prominent voice roles on classic hip-hop albums from numerous West Coast rappers; including Ice Cube (AmeriKKK'a's Most Wanted), Snoop Dogg (Doggystyle); and he starred in memorable Snoop videos for "Gin & Juice" and "Doggy Dogg World," which he also directed.

In addition to his voice work for rappers, Harris appeared onscreen in numerous television shows and films. He assumed hosting duties for Russell Simmons' Def Comedy Jam after the departure of original host Martin Lawrence in 1995; and appeared in John Singleton's Poetic Justice alongside Tupac Shakur and Janet Jackson in 1993, had a minor role in Michael Mann's 1995s heist epic Heat and Hard Rain in 1998. On the small screen, he landed recurring roles on The BreaksMoesha and Everybody Hates Chris, and appeared on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and ER.
