An 83-year-old woman succumbed to the freezing temps by being over exposed to the cold on Tuesday. From our media partner KLTV, the body of Betty Freeman was found hours after being reported missing by her caretaker.

Ms. Freeman was last seen around 1 p.m. on Tuesday (January 16) after her caretaker left her residence. On Wednesday morning when the caretaker returned to her home she wasn’t there. She was reported missing by 10 a.m. Her body was discovered a mile away from her residence on the 1900 block of Country Road 4118 in the Lindale area.

During extreme weather conditions, it is very important that you do wellness checks on the elderly to ensure that they are ok and have the resources needed to remain safe and healthy until the bad weather passes.

Our prayers and condolences go out to the family of Ms. Betty Freeman.
