Chaka Khan to Be Inducted Into Apollo Theater Hall of Fame

R&B star Chaka Khan will join other music legends in the Apollo Theater's Hall of Fame.

"I am honored that the Apollo is inducting me into the Apollo Legends Hall of Fame," said Khan in response to the prestigious honor. Her name will be added to a list of other legendary inductees including Michael Jackson, James Brown, Ella Fitzgerald, Smokey Robinson, Gladys Knight and Quincy Jones, just to name a few.

The induction ceremony will take place during the theater's 8th Annual 'Spring Gala,' scheduled for June 10 in New York City. Patti LaBelle and Mary J. Blige will perform in Khan's honor at the event.

All of the proceeds from the event are used to support Apollo community performing arts programs.
