Catch The Lunar Eclipse And Super Moon This Weekend

I love to star gaze and this weekend we are in for a special treat when there will be a total lunar eclipse and a super moon at the same time Sunday night (January 19^th).

According to National Geographic, the total lunar eclipse, will be the only one this year will begin at 9:34 p.m. CT, and totality, which is where the Earth’s shadow will cover the moon, will begin around 10:41 p.m. CT and will last a little over an hour.

The moon will seem to look red, which is why it’s called a blood moon, and it will also be a super moon, which means the moon will appear bigger than usual because it will be closer to Earth.

Now if the weather plays nicely in East Texas, the eclipse will be visible for us and throughout the United States.

Unlike the solar eclipse, we will be able to watch this one with the naked eye.
