[BREAKING] Dick Clark Dies at Age 82
Iconic broadcaster Dick Clark has died, according to TMZ. He was 82.
Clark reportedly passed away after suffering a massive heart attack.
A rep for the longtime 'American Bandstand' host said he suffered the heart attack after going to a Los Angeles hospital on Tuesday night for an outpatient procedure.
Clark's health has declined since he suffered a stroke in 2004, a medical setback which forced him to hand over hosting duties on 'New Year's Rockin' Eve' to Ryan Seacrest, although Clark did make brief appearances on the annual special after Seacrest took over.
Clark first rose to prominence hosting 'Bob Horn's Bandstand' in 1956. The show, which served as a launching pad for many artists, would be renamed 'American Bandstand.' Clark would go on to host the long-running program until 1989.
He also is remembered for hosting a slew of game shows, including the 'Pyramid' franchise.
Clark won five Emmy Awards during his career and is a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
