A New York chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon is surfacing in the news again for hazing a black man to death. We all know about the Oklahoma University chapter of the frat which was shut down after racist chants were seen on social media.A few years ago at Cornell University, Haitian-born Georges Desdunes was a 19-year-old pre-med student who was found dead Feb. 25, 2011. The New York Times reported that the only son of a widowed Haitian immigrant was kidnapped by Sigma Alpha Epsilon members who bound his hands and feet with zip ties and poured large amounts of alcohol down his throat.

They left him unconscious on a couch in a common area of the fraternity house where cleaning staff later found him dead.

Even though Georges died as a result of a ritual, three frat brothers were acquitted of misdemeanor hazing charges. His mother filed at $25 million wrongful death lawsuit.
