Best July 4th Fireworks Shows In + Near Tyler

Fireworks are always a part of the Fourth of July, and Tyler and East Texas are in no short supply of great fireworks shows. Here are some fireworks shows that are happening this year around East Texas.

Tyler Jaycees Fireworks Extravaganza

The Tyler Jaycees will host its 50th annual 4th of July Firework Extravaganza at Lindsey Park starting at 4 p.m. Thursday, July 4. The will include concessions, entertainment, patriotic salute and fireworks. Admission is $10 a carload. Fireworks begin at dark.

Hollytree Country Club, Tyler

It's not a real formal event, but hundreds gather each year on the golf course at Hollytree Country Club in Tyler for a fantastic fireworks show. You can park your car on the side of Hollytree Drive just after you drive in off Grande Boulevard and walk over to the course to take a seat. Bring a chair or a blanket. Fireworks start at dark.

Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Tyler

Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 13590 Highway 110 South in Tyler, will hold its annual Fourth of July event starting at 6:30 p.m. July 4. Hot dogs, water, chips and watermelon will be provided free while it lasts. The event also will feature a tribute to current and past military members, giveaways and more. Fireworks will begin at dusk.

Longview Fireworks + Freedom Celebration

The annual Fireworks and Freedom Celebration in Longview is at Maude Cobb Convention Center and Activity Complex on Thursday, July 4. Activities will begin at 2 p.m. and fireworks will start at dark. Admission into the festival and see fireworks is free, but there is a fee to the Rock of Ages Concert and some individual activities.

The Rock the Ages Concert features AC/DC tribute band Back in Black, Bruce Springsteen tribute band Thunder Road, and ZZ Top tribute band Trio Grande. The concert begins at 3:30 p.m. and concludes approximately 8:30 p.m.

Fireworks at the Fishery in Athens

The Texas Freshwater Fishery in Athens will host its annual fireworks show with a day full of fun, fishing and, of course, fireworks.

The fireworks show will begin about 9 p.m. Don’t just go for the fireworks, because you can make it a family event because the Fisheries Center will be open for regular paid visitors from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with free admission for the fireworks show after 4 p.m. You and the family can fish the stocked casting pond without a license while waiting for the fireworks show, and one of the best things is that bait and tackle are free! So fish the pond up until 8:30 p.m. and celebrate our nation’s independence with your family at the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center in Athens.

Blast Over Bullard

The annual Blast Over Bullard fireworks show will happen before the Fourth of July, so if you're in an early mood for fireworks, here's your chance. The Blast Over Bullard show is at 7 p.m. Friday, June 28, behind the Bullard High School field house.
