Beaumont Mom Investigated After Abusing Son At School

A Beaumont mom is being investigated after a viral video of her abusing her son at school with a belt.

According to 12 News KMBT, the video shows the mom appearing on the school campus searching for her son and when she locates him in the lunchroom she removes him and takes him into the outside courtyard.

The mom is then seen whipping the boy multiple times and was forced to apologize to his teacher.

The video has been removed out of safety for the child and DFPS and BISD police are investigating.

Jefferson County District Attorney Bob Wortham confirms there were no marks on the child, but said the verbal abuse was unnecessary.

BISD spokesperson Hannah Letulle said in an email, As the district was made aware of the situation, administrators contacted the appropriate enforcement agencies and the matter is under investigation.

At this time four children has been removed from the home from Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.

The mom will have a hearing within 14 days to determine if she will regain custody of the child.
