This will get your sweet tooth going.

While top 10 lists will forever be debatable, it's always great to see one of our East Texas businesses highlighted in a 'best of Texas' series. There are bakeries highlighted all over Texas from Killeen to Frisco to El Paso to Amarillo but Edible Art Specialty Cakes & Cookies in Longview takes the cake for East Texas (see what I did there?).

"We were so shocked, are you kidding!?" said Debbie Fontaine, founder of Edible Art.  "We always visit bakeries wherever we travel and to make it in a top 10 list - knowing we're up against some of the best bakeries in Texas - it's a dream."

Did you also know they will give you their famous Texas cookie for free! It's a way for the baking family to see where their cookies land around the country. People from Los Angeles, CA have nibbled on these bad boys.

In the article by Best Things TX and Only In Your State, they explain a couple things. First thing's first: they deliver! The website also says their 'special care in detail and truly customizable cakes are their strong point'.

Edible Art Specialty Cakes & Cookies comes from humble beginnings in the piney woods of East Texas. The building it resides in used to be It'll Do Tavern before it moved, according to their Facebook page:

Mom’s found custom cakes and cookies made with pride for their children. Then, the Longview Ballet ordered 600+ swan cookies for their performance of “Swan Lake.” “Edible Art” was no longer a secret.

They needed a building and prayed for help to find a location - "any little building will do".

This led us to the “It’ll Do Tavern” a bar for 40+ years on South Street in Longview, Texas. Try explaining to your dear friends and family that you bought a bar! Thanks to so many for their love, support and believing in a little dream. May 1st, 2007 “Edible Art Specialty Cakes & Cookies, LLC” was legally born.

Check out some of the creative and delicious treats East Texans have shared and gobbled up from the Longview store.
