Now that 2018 is finally here, all our 2016 faves are making belated returns. FX and Donald Glover’s Atlanta is first-up with March’s Season 2 premiere, and a new promo teasing the mysterious “Robbin’ Season” ahead.

Last night’s Golden Globes saw the first official teaser for Atlanta Season 2, which creators have officially dubbed Atlanta Robbin’ Season. The spot itself only offers so many clues; transitioning to different robberies and locales with stars Donald Glover, Zazie Beetz, Lakeith Stanfield and Brian Tyree Henry, but nonetheless confirms a March 1 premiere.

So, why the Robbin’ Season title? As Glover and crew recently explained at the 2018 TCA Press Tour panel, “Robbin’ Season” refers to a real-life phenomenon of an uptick in robberies around the holiday season. And while you wouldn’t guess it from the title, Glover also noted that Season 2 would draw heavy inspiration from Tiny Toons cartoon How I Spent My Summer Vacation. Allow writer Stephen Glover to explain (h/t Billboard):

They would play them during the summer together and we kind of took that idea — a whole story but being told in a bunch of different parts. You enjoy them more when they’re all together but you can also enjoy them in little bits.

Atlanta Season 1 was esoteric enough as is, but stay tuned for more on Robbin’ Season as we get closer to the March 1 premiere.
