‘A Different World’ Actor Lou Myers Dead At 77

He was best known as Mr Gaines from the hit television show, "A Different World", actor Lou Myers passed away on Tuesday at 77 years old. Myers had reportedly been in and out of the hospital battling health issues, including pneumonia.

Following his battle with pneumonia, the actor was treated and released. Myers had only recently been suffering from hear-related issues, which led him to being admitted for a heart-related emergency.

Myers eventually slipped into a coma, and his heart stopped. Medical teams couldn't revive him and he sadly passed away shortly after.

Myers began his careen on Broadway, and acted in a string of films and television roles. However, he was best known for his memorable role as "Mr. Vernon Gaines" on television's 'A Different World'.
