Thanksgiving Week is finally here and it's the big 3-day weekend I've all been waiting on for months. I usually watch movies, clean my house, call my brother and his family in Oklahoma and ring up my mom who lives in Tennessee. My 8-year-old daughter, Willow, will likely be watching My Little Pony episodes in the other room while I tackle making our tiny Thanksgiving Dinner.

Willow is such a picky eater, she will only eat some turkey, a roll of bread and a couple of bites of greens or mac and cheese. I might as well just hit up Raising Cane's and grab her a kids combo to go! I am basically just cooking Thanksgiving for myself, but you know what, that is just fine with me!

I've got my Thanksgiving Week evenings already planned out. After I get home from work each day this week, I am going to change into my leopard onesie, fill up my coffee mug with some egg nog (with a splash of rum), turn on one of the tried-and-true feel-good movies that I turn to each year around this time and then start cooking.

I'll share my list with you, and please throw out some recommendations for me to add to my movie list!

    Last Holiday

Queen Latifah knows how to put on a charming performance in this movie where she thinks she's about to die so she runs out and does all the wonderful things on her bucket list. Spoiler Alert: She doesn't die.

    Almost Christmas

I don't know why, but I think this movie is so dang funny. It's got just what I need: Danny Glover, Mo'Nique, Gabby Union, JB Smoove plus Gladys Knight and Monica!

    The Best Man: Holiday

You can't go wrong with this holiday classic featuring Regina Hall, Sanaa Lathan, Nia Long and Morris Chestnut!

    The Holiday Calendar

I found this mess while digging up Hallmark Christmas movies and I fell in love with it. It's very predictable, but it's still cute. Features Al B. Sure's son, Quincy as one of the romantic leads. Aww, he looks just like his daddy!

    While You Were Sleeping

This Sandra Bullock movie got me all choked up when it came out in 1995, and it continues to warm my cold, Thanksgiving Grinch-y heart when that man's family takes in Sandra's lonely and forlorn character, Lucy.
