Will Smith was caught on video at the Moscow screening of "Men in Black III." Everything seemed to be great and Will Smith appeared to be his normal self: outgoing, friendly and always quick to make the crowd laugh.

But things took cameras by surprise when a reporter approached Smith and hugged him affectionately, trying to give him a kiss on the cheek. Smith responded by pushing the reporter away and smacking his face.

The reporter was later identified as Vitalii Sediuk, who according to the Los Angeles Times also awkwardly approached Madonna last fall with a bouquet of flowers. Luckily, the incident between Smith and Sediuk was brief and Smith walked off and continued greeting others with a smile on his face.

He laughed off the incident recently on the "Late Show With David Letterman," saying it took him by surprise.

"I didn't beat up a guy! No, no. I was in Moscow and ... we're doing an interview and he says, 'Man ...,' he was a reporter and he says, 'I'm your biggest fan, can I have a hug, please?' " he said to Letterman. "So I go to give this joker a hug and he tries to lean in to kiss me, you know? And ... it's just awkward, Dave."

Here's the video of the incident if you missed it.
