Its been dominating the news for months now, the Presidential election! Tuesday, November 8th a President elect will be picked by the American people and sworn into office January 20, 2017! Before that happens though we've got to get out there and vote for your favorite candidate - whether they're red, blue, green or purple - you've got to vote!

If you didn't vote during early voting (thankfully I did), you'll have 12 hours on Tuesday, November 8th to cast your ballot! The polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

I was going to create a list of polling locations so you could easily see where to go to vote, but when I began this I discovered there are thirty-four polling locations in Smith County alone! So I'll just give you a link to each of the county's election pages and you'll be able to find a polling location nearest you!

If your county is not listed, simply search on Google - (name of) county tx voting locations and search! It should pull up a list or you can always try VoteTexas.gov to find a polling location as well.

Texas Voter ID Law remains in effect. You'll need to bring one of the following in order to cast your ballot:

  • Texas Driver’s License issued by the Department of Public Safety (“DPS”)
  • Texas Election Identification Certificate issued by DPS
  • Texas Personal Identification Card issued by DPS
  • Texas Handgun License issued by DPS
  • United States Military Identification Card containing the person’s photograph
  • United States Citizenship Certificate containing the person’s photograph
  • United States Passport

There other exemptions or ways to vote if you do not have any of the above listed documentation.

Exercise your right as an American and be a part of the process - VOTE! Polls are open 7 a.m to 7 p.m. Tuesday, November 8th!
