R&B + Soul Singer Mel Waiters Dies at 58

This morning I got the disturbing news that we lost R&B/Soul/Blues singer Mel Waiters from a long battle with cancer.

For the last two years Mel would come to Tyler every fall and give the best show of the year at Club Sky. He was 58 years old.

Mr. Waiters, as I referred to him, was born and lived in San Antonio and was a radio DJ. He had confided in me that he was wanted to get back on the radio and wanted to make a major comeback in the music industry.
