Watch Rita Ora Cover ‘Say My Name’ by Destiny’s Child

Anyone who had any doubts about Rita Ora should have their fears assuaged by this new clip. The Kosovo-born, British-raised songstress covered ‘Say My Name’ by Destiny’s Child live in New York City and absolutely blew the roof off. The crowd ate it up — and that crowd included none other than former DC frontwoman, Beyonce.

Clad in black shorts, a black and white top and ripped black tights, Ora’s strong vocals more than held their own against the music, even transforming the track into a ballad towards the middle until its conclusion, ad libbing soulfully until the video’s end. You can actually hear the audience chatter steadily lessen until you hear little more than the onstage action.

The performance took place at a private Cartier event, and Ora didn’t realize that her mentor, Jay-Z, and his wife, Queen Bey, were present. Us Weekly reports that the ‘How We Do’ singer told the crowd, “I’m so embarrassed!” From what we can see, Ora has no reason whatsoever to be bashful — the gal can sing her tush off!
