Mark Jackson coached three seasons with the Golden State Warriors and led them to back to back playoff seasons and a 51-31 record this season.

But with two early exits in the playoffs, the Warriors fired Jackson Tuesday.

General Manager Bob Myers said, "We respect all Jackson has done with team in his tenure, but we have to go in a different direction."

Many expected Jackson to be fired after a hard-fought seven game series with the Los Angeles Clippers in which they were eliminated.
