Usher reportedly is rethinking his legal strategy in his ongoing custody battle with Tameka Raymond — this after a jet ski accident left his 11-year-old stepson brain dead. TMZ is reporting that over the weekend Usher and Tameka talked about reaching an amicably settlement in their case.

According to TMZ’s sources, Usher has ordered his attorneys to draft a new proposal that would give Tameka majority custody to their two children and offer a significant raise in child support, something Tameka has been requesting in their drawn-out legal battle.

It appears that Usher feels differently about the situation now that he sees the suffering Tameka is currently going through with her son. Although terms of the new agreement have not been presented to Tameka, her lawyers are opened to a “reasonable settlement,” according to TMZ.

On Tuesday (July 10), the family released a statement to CNN asking for prayers for Kile Glover who remains in critical condition at an Atlanta hospital. (Many reports have previously spelled the boy’s name “Kyle,” but the family’s statement refers to him as “Kile.”)

The statement reads:

“We know God’s in control, and are leaning on our faith in Him and His word at this most difficult time. We firmly believe in the power of prayer and ask that you all continue to pray and lift Kile up, as it’s the best way we can all support him now.”

Glover and a 15-year-old girl were riding in an inner tube being pulled by a flat-bottomed boat on Georgia’s Lake Lanier when they were struck by a man, identified as Jeffrey Hubbard, on a jet ski.

Since Friday, the family has held a vigil for Kile at the hospital, according to CNN. Usher visited Glover early Saturday morning but has not returned, a source close to the family told the website.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Usher, Tameka and their families.
