Usher will perform live in New York on an upcoming episode of NBC’s sketch-comedy series ‘Saturday Night Live.’ The ‘Climax’ singer will grace the stage on May 12 with ‘SNL’ alum Will Ferrell serving as host, according to The Hollywood Reporter

This will mark Usher’s third appearance as a musical guest on ‘SNL.’ His last performance on the late-night show was in May 2008 when Steve Carell was the host. Coincidentally, it will also be funnyman Ferrel’s third time serving as a host since leaving the cast a decade ago.

As we previously reported, Rihanna will perform at ‘SNL’ on May 5 with New York Giants quarterback and Super Bowl champ Eli Manning handling the hosting duties.

Usher has been on a promotional roll lately. Following his No. 1 hit ‘Climax,’ the crooner just recently dropped the dance floor burner ‘Scream.’

The R&B star is set to release his new album ‘Looking for Myself’ on June 12. The collection will feature production assists from Diplo, Rico Love and Jim Jonsin. Usher collaborated with ‘Without You’ producer David Guetta on the album, as well. While Guetta wouldn’t reveal the details of the tracks, he insists the that music is “something really, really, really, crazy.”
