Usher turned his off-Broadway debut Friday night (April 27) into a listening party for his upcoming LP ‘Looking For Myself’ (due June 12). The R&B crooner performed several tracks from the album as part of his performance for ‘Fuerza Bruta: Look Up,’ which is an acrobatic play that involves the audience to participate while performers do aerial tricks on walls and onstage.

According to Rolling Stone who witnessed the extravaganza, Usher transformed New York’s vintage Daryl Roth Theater into a roving discotheque complete with strobe lights and booming speakers. Dressed in all-white suit and black tie, Ursh performed his club-driven hits including the David Guetta-produced ‘Without You,’ as well as his No. 1 ballad ‘Climax.’

During the show, Usher invited audiences onstage to dance to his fist-pumping jam ‘Scream‘ and later, he was sprawled out on a couch for the Jim Jonsin-blessed tune ‘Let Me See’ (featuring Rick Ross). Another eye-catching set piece featured Usher singing his emotional ballad ‘Dive,’ while performers swim through an aquatic tarp high above the audiences’ head.

All and all, it was a wet and wild night for attendees who wanted to see and hear Usher perform tracks from his new album. On April 28, Usher will recreate the performance again for the general paying audience. Judging from the positive reviews, we are quite sure the show will be well worth its price of admission.
