It took two weeks and two loses in a row, but the Green Bay Packers have resigned Tyler native Matt Flynn as a backup to injured Aaron Rodgers.

Rodgers got hurt last Monday Night in the Packers' loss to the Chicago Bears with a dislocated shoulder and did not play this past Sunday.

Flynn, who went to Robert E. Lee High School in Tyler, was drafted by and played for the Packers his first three season before leaving to play for the Seattle Seahawks after the 2011 season.

Since then, Flynn has been released by the Seahawks, Raiders and Bills. He may play immediately.
