Now that summer is here, finding daily activities for the kids to be a part of can be a bit challenging. However, the Tyler Parks and Recreation Department has some summertime activities planned at Tyler parks for kids ages 6 to 12 and happen on a daily basis through August 16th. The summer playground program includes food, sports, arts and crafts, games, special events, contests and more and has been happening every year at Tyler parks since the 1950's.

Participating parks include:

  • City Park
  • Emmett Scott Park
  • P.T. Cole Park
  • Pollard Park
  • Glass Recreation Center

Specific day, time and events are as follows:

City Park - W. Queen St. & N. Broadway
Monday through Friday 9a - 1:30p and participation is free and both breakfast and lunch are provided.

Emmett Scott Park - 1710 N. Confederate St.
Monday through Friday 9a - 1:30p and participatin is free with both breakfast and lunch being provided.

P.T. Cole Park - 1001 S. Vine Ave
Monday through Friday 9a - 1:30p and participation is free and both breakfast and lunch are provided.

Pollard Park - 810 S. Amherst Dr.
Monday through Friday 9a - 1:30p and participatin is free with lunch being provided.

Glass Recreation Center - 501 W. 32nd St.
Monday through Friday 9a- 3p and participation is limited to 80 children and requires a one time payment of $40. Check with the Glass Recreation Center on available openings at 903.595.7271.

Activities at the listed parks happen daily through August 16th.
