Many folks are coming together to host a garage sale in Tyler on July 11 to benefit two organizations.

The garage sale, which is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 11, at 621 W. Houston St., will benefit two charities. Most of the funds will be given to Pets Fur People humane society in Tyler, which is currently trying to raise enough money to keep operations running.

Pets Fur People is hoping to have $90,000 in 90 days. Contributors have given a little more than $52,000 at last count. It is the only no-kill animal shelter in East Texas.

A portion of the funds will also go to The Water Project, which helps people all over the world gain access to clean water.

The garage sale will have normal household items, clothes, electronics and furniture, etc. But it also will be selling two tickets to an upcoming show at Tyler's Liberty Hall, coffee, lemonade and cookies and lunch from Taco Bueno. Taco Bueno will donate 15 percent of proceeds it receives from catering to the garage sale.

For more information on the garage sale or if you would like to donate, you can visit the event's Facebook page.
