Tweet Is Dating Pastor Jamal Bryant: ‘I Call Her My Last Lady’
Tweet and Pastor Jamal H. Bryant are officially an item. The veteran R&B star and the preacher with the TV show have apparently been together on the low for almost a year; but Pastor Bryant is making their relationship public this week on his show, The Preachers. The episode airs today (July 29.)
According to TheYBF, the two met when Bryant came across Tweet as they were both walking through Times Squares while he was on his way to an Oprah Winfrey movie premiere last year. He asked the singer for a photo and they exchanged info. Things moved on from there.
“We’ve grown into an incredible friendship," said Pastor Bryant on his show. "I call her my last lady.”
On the show, Tweet is asked what is the hardest aspect of dating Bryant, who leads Baltimore’s Empowerment Temple. Tweet answered the question honestly.
“I guess it’s dealing with the women that send messages that said God said that they are your girlfriend," she said. "Then dealing with church people who say that I’m not Godly enough to be with him, but I have a relationship with God, so I’m good.”
For those unaware, Pastor Bryant has a checkered history when it comes to the ladies: he's alleged to have fathered a baby with another woman while he was married to Gizelle Bryant of Real Housewives of the Potomac fame; he has been accused of impregnating a woman in his church. The Baltimore Sun reported that a 34 year old Los Angeles-based masseuse named Latoya Odom has accused the minister of fathering her son.
Pastor Bryant responded to the latest allegations earlier this year.
“Over the last week, a lot has been said, a lot has been suggested and, like you, I was thrown into a tailspin. I had to shut down for a minute so that my response would not be that of a man but be priestly as a man of God,” Bryant said in the video. “To that end, let me say to you, I am one of those rare people who are flawed with character, that with all of my issues, I don’t run from them but I stand right next to them.”
