Tip Leads to Arrest of Woman Charged With Running Over People

Brittany Michelle Barrett, 22, has been arrested a day after police issued three arrest warrants for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Tyler police were notified Wednesday by Anderson County Sheriff’s Department that they had Barrett in custody. Officials stated that they had received a CrimeStopper tip on her location in Anderson County. Barrett will be transported to Smith County today and booked into Smith County Jail.

Police investigators have determined that on May 14, Barrett was driving a 2003 Ford Explorer in the 2100 block of North Grand Avenue. Barrett intentionally struck three people with her vehicle, after a fight had occurred inside a local nightclub.

Barrett’s bond has been set at $225,000.
