The IRS Grants 2011 2-Day File Extension

Some good news for you tax payers and procrastinators! The IRS has granted a two-day filing extension to get your 2011 taxes mailed in this year! Usually tax day is April 15th, but this year that date falls on a Sunday, and because of that PLUS the fact that the following Monday is Emancipation Day, Uncle Sam announced the new deadline will be Tuesday, April 17th.

The IRS is already accepting returns through their e-filing system, which is fastest. The IRS reminds you that if an extension is needed you still have until October 15th, 2012, but don't forget to request an extension!
