With so much gun violence going on within the United States I was discouraged when the Texas Senate voted to approve concealed carry permit holders to have their guns locked in their cars parked outside schools.

School Shooting In Nevada Leaves Two Dead, Two Critically Injured

According to the Midland Reporter-Telegram, this bill was approved yesterday (May 8) by a vote 25-6 to allow teachers who have concealed carry permits to keep their guns locked in there cars and even though it passed through the Senate it has yet to reach the House floor for a vote.

Last week there was a shooting at North Lake College in Irving, TX and just last month in Austin a 5th grader brought a BB gun to school and shot at multiple students.  By those two situations I wouldn't feel safe or secure by having my gun in my car in the parking lot.  I just think there could be a better way to handle conceal and carry when it comes to being on school grounds.

Let me make this crystal clear, I am all for concealed and carry.  However, I don’t think it is a great idea to vote on a bill to have teachers keeps their guns in their car on school grounds.  Basically, you aren’t supposed to have guns on school grounds and I would hate to think of the horror if a car was to get broken into and the gun was stolen.  I can only pray for the best.
