Noticed anything different about Texas lately? If not, you should have!

The crime rate has dropped significantly by 8.3 percent across the state. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, last year marked the second straight year criminal activity decreased in the state of Texas.

“I’m helping protect family and friends here in my own community. We’ve been able to seize drugs. I’ve been able to seize drugs. I’ve been able to seize guns just from a normal regular traffic stop," Angelina County officer Randall Noe said.

Officials say participation in the system also decreased the number of crimes. Statistics have shown violent crimes have decreased by 9.3 percent and property crimes have decreased by 8.2 percent last year. It is predicted  with the use of technology and heavy enforcement, crime rates will continue to decline.

Let’s keep up the good work Texas!
