Taraji P. Henson Apologizes for Saying Son Was Racially Profiled
Taraji P. Henson has taken to social media to apologize to the Glendale, Calif., police department for allegations she made after her 20-year-old son Marcel was stopped by police.
E! News reports that Taraji said she may have overreacted once the videos were made public. The video show a police officer pulling Marcel over because he drove through a crosswalk that had blinking lights, which is a moving violation. The office let him off for that, but also smelled marijuana in the car. He did get a ticket for the "Mary Jane."
On her Instagram page. Taraji had this to say:
"I would like to apologize to the officer and the Glendale Police Department. A mother's job is not easy and neither is a police officer's. Sometimes as humans we overreact without gathering all the facts. As a mother in this case I overreacted and for that I apologize. Thank you to that officer for being kind to my son. #TurningANegativeIntoAPositive #LoveTarajiPHenson"
