Multiple sources are reporting that musical icon Stevie Wonder has been inducted into the Apollo Legends Hall of Fame. Wonder was honored through the Apollo's spring gala. He then also had collaborations with several other famous stars including Doug E. Fresh, Tony Bennett and more! Wonder said:

“It’s a moment to cherish and remember, relishing in the memories of the times that I’ve been at the Apollo, as well as this night, the great people that came out to support me being here,” Wonder said in an interview. “It’s a great thing to be one of those people in the Hall of Fame for the Apollo.”

The honor was presented to Stevie Wonder by fellow star Tony Bennett. He was also honored for his civil rights causes.

“As much as I may never see the color of his skin, I’m able to feel the color of his spirit,” Wonder told the audience. “When it was not fashionable to hang out with the brothers and sisters, you did.”

Other performers included Raphael Sadiq, Yolanda Adams and Melanie Fiona. The Apollo spring gala raised about $1.2 million which is used for its educational programs and to preserve the theater's legacy.

Congratulations to Stevie Wonder! He truly deserves it!
