Statewide Silver Alert Canceled; Dallas Man Found Safe

A statewide silver alert for Wilbert Hubert Wingfield of Dallas was called off Monday afternoon after he was found safe in Vermillion, Louisiana.

Family members told police Willie Hubert Wingfield was last seen Friday around 11:45 p.m. and said he was driving from Dallas to Tyler to visit his girlfriend.

Wingfield stopped and called her for directions to her house around 5:30 p.m. He told his girlfriend he was at the CVS Pharmacy on Glenwood and W. Gentry. The last time he was contacted he said he was somewhere on Queen Street. No contact has been made since.

There was an unconfirmed report Sunday evening that Wingfield was spotted in Upshur County near Big Sandy.

Wingfield suffers from dementia and is also diabetic.
