The CEO of the Starbucks corporation announced that they will not allow costumers with firearms enter any Starbucks location from now on. What is the reasoning behind this decision to keep guns away from your pumpkin spice lattes?

Starbucks CEO, Howard Schultz, said that this is not a political statement. The decision to make Starbucks locations gun free was not done to say that they are by any means "anti-gun" or "pro-gun." The company has not created a rule strictly banning guns.

Schultz continues his explanation of this choice to “respectfully request” that firearms stay on the other side of these popular coffee shop doors by saying that this is to ensure that Starbucks can stay in a more neutral position on the Second Amendment debate. Also, they want to stay out of the opinions being thrown around about the place of firearms in American society itself.
