‘Star Wars’ is About to Hog All the IMAX Screens
If you want to see a movie on an IMAX screen, you better do it now. The new 'Star Wars: Episode 7' has booked every IMAX screen in North America later this year.
'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' opens Dec. 18, and it's booked every IMAX screen that it can for one month, in a new deal between Disney/Lucasfilm and IMAX. 'The Force Awakens' will be showing on at least 375 to 400 IMAX screens.
This may make me wildly unpopular, but I don't get Star Wars! Or the hype around it.
I had a Yoda bubble bath dispenser and an R2D2 remote-controlled robot when I was growing up because I liked 'Return of the Jedi,' but ever since then I've struggled to wrap my brain around the franchise.
Maybe I've been spending too much time on Amy Schumer standup. Did you hear Amy Schumer and Jennifer Lawrence are writing a screenplay together? Awesome. I can't wait.
Back to Star Wars. After the Christmas blockbuster this year, the next Star Wars movie comes out Dec. 16, 2016, and then there's another one planned for May 25, 2018.
