Reports from our friends at KLTV say authorities say a 4-year-old boy is dead after being shot in the abdomen by a 5-year-old sibling who was playing with a bolt-action rifle in the family's Texas home. The shooting happened late Wednesday and the children's parents were in fact at home.

Chief Deputy Terry Simons tells the Victoria Advocate that investigators are trying to determine why the children were left unsupervised. The parents drove their wounded son to a nearby grocery to meet with paramedics, who then rushed the boy to a hospital.

Investigations are still going on at this time.

This is unfortunately becoming more and more of a problem. Do we need stricter laws on gun control in Texas? Should the parents be held fully responsible for this child's senseless death? If so, what do you think the punishment should be?
